Maliasili

Responding to the severe droughts struck East Africa in 2022 and exposed millions of people to acute hunger, Cartier for Nature provided emergency funding for several grassroots organisations in Kenya through Maliasili, aiming to assist the most vulnerable communities in this time of need and maintain their ability to coexist with the region’s wildlife.

Hutukara Yanomami Association

In 2020, Cartier for Nature provided a grant to the Hutukara Yanomami Association (HAY) that was originally intended to support the Yanomami’s radio communications network, organisation of their general assembly and reforestation activities. However, it was re-allocated at HAY’s request to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, e.g. for the acquisition of medical equipment, personal protection equipment, COVID-19 tests and the set-up of mobile clinics.

Australia bushfire relief effort

In response to the devastating bush fires of 2020 that severely affected people, flora and fauna in many parts of Australia, Cartier for Nature provided emergency grants to three Australian civil society organisations (NSW Rural Fire Service Association, WIRES & Australian Red Cross) in support of their relief efforts.

The Lion’s Share

In 2021 and 2022, Cartier for Nature made contributions to the Lion's Share Fund, a multi-partner platform for private sector corporations, philanthropists, foundations, and non-governmental organizations that helped address the biodiversity crisis by redirecting advertising funds to wildlife and nature conservation actions.
